The Bastard Executioner
Blood-soaked medieval epic that chronicles the narrative of 14th century mercenary Wilkin Brattle, who is asked by a holy messenger to put his blade down in order to live the life of a journeyman executioner instead. He must balance protecting his true identity while also fulfilling an enigmatic destiny while set amid a moment of uprising and political turmoil in northern Wales. As he seeks to discover his true calling, Wilkin is aided by the mystical healer Annora, whose apparent omniscience has Wilkin in her grip; deceived by the scheming Chamberlain Milus Corbett; and propelled by a burgeoning bond with the Baroness Lady Love.
