Taken, also known as Steven Spielberg Presents Taken, received an Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries in 2002. Leslie Bohem wrote it, and Breck Eisner, Félix Enrquez Alcalá, John Fawcett, Tobe Hooper, Jeremy Paul Kagan, Michael Katleman, Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Bryan Spicer, Jeff Woolnough, and Thomas J. Wright directed it in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Leslie Bohem and Steven Spielberg produced. The show recounts the lives of three families from 1944 to 2002: the Crawfords, who cover up the Roswell crash and aliens, the Keys, who are frequently experimented on by aliens, and the Clarkes, who hid one of the surviving aliens. Due to the extensive storyline, no actor or character appears in every episode. The show earned an Emmy. Sci-Fi Channel promoted the show when Coalition for Freedom of Information was founded. Both the Sci-Fi Channel and the Coalition for Freedom of Information are PodestaMattoon clients, which has been questioned.
