Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju
When a certain man gets out of prison, he knows exactly where he's going first. After falling in love with a traditional comic storyteller's telling of the story "Shinigami," he is determined to become his apprentice. The performer, Yakumo, has never had an apprentice before, so everyone is surprised when he accepts the eager ex-convict and calls him "Yotaro." As Yotaro happily starts his new life, he meets people in Yakumo's life, like Yakumo's ward Konatsu. Konatsu was the daughter of a famous storyteller, and Yakumo took her in after her father died in a tragic accident. Konatsu loved listening to her father tell stories, and she would love to become a performer herself, but women are not allowed to go in that direction.
