Satyamev Jayate is an Indian television chat program that aired on different Star Network channels as well as Doordarshan's DD National. The first season of the show premiered on May6,2012, and featured prominent Bollywood actor and producer Aamir Khan making his television debut. The second season is now in the works. The show addresses sensitive social issues prevalent in India, such as female foeticide, child sexual abuse, dowry, medical malpractice, honor killings, insensitivity towards the physically disabled, domestic violence, pesticide overuse leading to pesticide poisoning, alcoholism, untouchability, the plight of senior citizens, and the water crisis. While Hindi is the primary language of the show, it has also been dubbed and simulcast in Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu, as well as subtitled in English. Satyamev Jayate garnered overwhelmingly positive reactions and feedback from both critics and the general audience. Several cinema and television professionals, politicians, and social activists praised the show for its research, format, presentation, and content.
