The program premiered on October 7, 2006, and is based on the classic traditions of famed English folk hero Robin Hood. Series two premiered on October 6, 2007, with the final two episodes airing on December 29, 2007. Series three premiered on March 28, 2009, for a thirteen-episode run. The BBC cancelled the show after series three due to the departure of several characters, including lead actor Jonas Armstrong.
