The Western Wei enslaved many citizens throughout the Warring Period. Chu Qiao, a slave girl, is dumped into a jungle with other slaves, where she becomes the affluent lords' next hunting target. Yan Xun, Prince of Northern Wei, is the one who saves her. She is then introduced to a strong Yuwen family and sees their violent power battle. When she notices this, she swears that she will take her younger sister and flee the situation. She, on the other hand, attracts Yuwen Yue's interest and is subjected to rigorous training while forming a bond with Yan Xun. Unfortunately, Western Wei fights and Yan Xun's family is massacred. Yan Xun becomes ambitious and nasty after the occurrence in order to avenge the things and people he has lost. He has reservations about Chu Qiao and has taken advantage of her loyalty and love on numerous occasions, ignoring their relationship as well as the sacrifices he will have to make in order to gain power. Chu Qiao, dissatisfied with the man she once loved, ends her relationship with Yan Xun and decides to fight alongside Yuwen Yue, foiling Yan Xun's retribution intentions. She eventually persuades Yuwen to free the land from slavery, establishing herself as a popular military strategist and female general.
