A prophecy predicted that the victor would be the recipient of the priestess' benediction. Yang Xue Wu, the clan's last priestess, was accidentally drawn into a conflict between Northern Qi and Northern Zhou. She falls in love with Lan Ling Wang, the commander of Northern Qi, and aids him in his victory over Yuwen Yong, the monarch of Northern Zhou, despite foreseeing his terrible end. However, fate cannot be altered.
