Catalan television show Polseres vermelles, or Pulseras Rojas in Spanish. The first season aired on TV3 in 2011, and a second season is set to premiere in 2013. Albert Espinosa produced the program, which is based on his boyhood experiences as a hospital patient. Espinosa has previously collaborated with director-producer Pau Freixas on the film Herois. The show follows a group of Catalan youngsters and teenagers who meet as patients in a hospital's children's ward. Friendship, the drive to live, and the desire to overcome adversity are among the themes explored. The show was initially set to last for four seasons, the second of which would premiere in January 2013. Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks and Marta Kauffman announced in October 2011 that they had secured an agreement with TV3 for an American adaptation of Polseres Vermelles. The first season, called Pulseras rojas in Spanish, aired in summer 2012 on the Spanish channel Antena 3. On December 11, 2012, TV3 confirmed that the second season would broadcast on January 14, 2013. Later in 2013, Antena 3 will broadcast it dubbed.
