Password is an American television game show that was made by Bob Stewart for Goodson-Todman Productions. Allen Ludden was the host. He was known for being the host of the G.E. College Bowl. Password was first shown on CBS from October2,1961, to September15,1967, with 1,555 daytime broadcasts and weekly prime time broadcasts from January2,1962, to September9,1965, and from December25,1966, to May22, 1967. From April5,1971, to June27,1975, ABC showed an additional 1,099 daytime shows. On CBS, the show was announced by Jack Clark and Lee Vines, and on ABC, it was announced by John Harlan. Later, two revivals aired on NBC from 1979 to 1982 and 1984 to1989. Then, from 2008 to2009, a prime time version aired on CBS. TV Guide put it at #8 on its list of the 60 best game shows ever in 2013.
