Village Roadshow Pictures is the production company behind the Australian television series Paradise Beach. This program was produced by New World Television for the Nine Network and shown between 1993 and 1994. The majority of the series was shot on location in Queensland's Gold Coast, providing viewers with sights of crashing waves, golden beaches, and scantily clad young men and women. The series is centered around folks who live and work on the Gold Coast. It was always the plan for Paradise Beach to not only compete with other Australian soap operas like Neighbours and Home and Away, but also to be the first Australian soap opera to achieve mainstream success in the United States.
