The misadventures of socially shy Chad, his younger brother Jay, and his best friend Chris as they come of age. In their final years of youth, the boys of the small village of Holford traverse its bizarre and desolate environment. Along the way, the audience meets Chad's traditional parents, Wayne and Rose, as well as Chris's single mother, Joanie, and her catastrophic lover, Terry. Additionally, they meet Sharla, the love interest of Chad. The series explores the dangers of adolescence, such as puberty, first loves, and social ostracism, while examining the scary limbo between childhood and adulthood, when delicate adolescent personalities emerge and re-form.
