Jacque Edmonds Cofer is the creator of the romantic comedy television series Let's Stay Together, which airs in the United States. It was first shown on BET on January 11, 2011. The name of the series is a reference to a classic song that was released in 1972 by Al Green under the same name. The series opener got 4.4 million viewers. At first, the role of Stacy, the main character, was intended to be played by Malinda Williams, who is known for her work on Soul Food. She was replaced by Nadine Ellis for reasons which remain unknown. The network made the announcement on April 20, 2013, that the show would continue for a second season, which consisted of 22 episodes and began airing in January 2012. Due to the fact that she was expecting, Erica Hubbard made a limited number of appearances during the second season of the show. Crystal, who is Charles and Kita's cousin, was played by new cast member Kyla Pratt, who also joined the cast. On April13,2012, during the BET Upfront, it was announced that the show has been picked up for a third season, which will begin production later this year. The premiere of the third season took place on March 26, 2013. In April of2013, BET Networks made the announcement that the show would be renewed for a fourth season, which is scheduled to begin airing in the beginning of 2014.
