Production company Parallel Film and Television Productions has developed a British television series called Kingdom, which airs on ITV1. Stephen Fry plays a Norfolk solicitor, Peter Kingdom, who must deal with his family, coworkers, and the odd clients who come to him for legal advice. Hermione Norris, Celia Imrie, Karl Davies, Phyllida Law, and Tony Slattery all appeared in the series. An average of six million people tuned in each week to watch the inaugural season, which consisted of six one-hour episodes. Second series was ordered by ITV executive chairman despite a ratings decline in the middle of the first season. Filming took place at the end of 2007 and the show was broadcast in January and February 2008. For the third series, which aired on June7,2009, filming took place from July to September 2008. According to Stephen Fry's blog post from October of2009, ITV had decided to cancel the show due to budget constraints, which the network later confirmed.
