Kick is an Australian TV show that started on June 9, 2007, on SBS TV. It takes place in the suburb of Brunswick in Melbourne, Australia. The series is about Miki Mavros, a wild twenty-year-old who is forced to move back in with her Greek-Australian parents on Hope Street after a failed attempt to "make it big." Miki starts working as a secretary for the slick Anglo-Indian Dr. Joe Mangeshkar, who has a girlfriend named Jan, and things get out of hand. Miki is in charge of a local soccer team, so the series is called Kick. The show also follows Miki's neighbors on Hope Street, including the Salim family, a Lebanese-Australian Muslim family with children named Amen, Osama "Ozzie," Taghred, and Layla. Amen wants to be a businessman but has questionable morals. Osama is going through typical teenage angst, and he has a crush on Taghred's friend Tatiana. Taghred wants to be a famous soccer player. Layla is a college student who is set to marry Sharif, but everything changes when she falls in love with Jackie, who is also a fencer. You can get the first season of the show on DVD.
