The comedy-drama television series Easy Money debuted on The CW on October 5, 2008, and ran for a total of 16 episodes through August 16, 2009. Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider are responsible for the creation of the series. Media Rights Capital is an independent producer of television programs, and the company is responsible for producing shows such as this one, Valentine, Surviving Suburbia, and In Harm's Way, among others. The CW did not experience any success in the ratings with the night's programming, therefore the network decided to sell the Sunday night block to the producers on a leased-time basis. Midway through the month of October, production of the series was halted, and it was anticipated that it would begin again within four to six weeks. After another two weeks, MRC came to the conclusion that they would no longer be producing Easy Money or Valentine. The CW made the decision to terminate its arrangement with MRC for Sunday Night programming on November 20, 2008, which resulted in the cancellation of all previously scheduled programming for that night. On July 6, 2009, The CW made the announcement that beginning on July 26, they would begin airing the last episodes of the series on Sundays at 7 o'clock in the evening.
