Doctor Who Confidential is a documentary series produced by the BBC to support the return of the long-running British science fiction television programme Doctor Who. Each episode aired on BBC Three on Saturdays, after the weekly television show on BBC One. The first two series were 30 minutes each, and the third was 45 minutes long. BBC Three also aired a 15-minute version of the show after the repeats on Sundays and Fridays, as well as after the weekday evening repeats from previous seasons. Confidential, which focuses on the series' human element, includes behind-the-scenes video and interviews with the cast, production crew, and others, including those who have participated in the television series over the years. Each episode focuses on a particular issue and, in most circumstances, links back to the previous Doctor Who episode. Aside from Doctor Who episodes, there have been two episodes of Doctor Who Confidential broadcast: in November 2006, an edition titled "Music and Monsters" was produced, going behind the scenes of a televised concert of soundtrack music produced as part of that year's Children in Need appeal, and on 3 January 2009, a special edition was broadcast to announce the actor chosen to play the Eleventh Doctor.
