There were five seasons and 110 episodes of the American crime drama Charlie's Angels on ABC between September 1976 and June 1981. Creators Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts, along with producer Aaron Spelling, conceived and produced the series. With Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett-Majors and Jaclyn Smith in the starring roles, it followed the exploits of three women working in a Los Angeles private detective business. Forsythe provided the voice of their boss, while David Doyle served as their sidekick. Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack, and Tanya Roberts were all added to the roster after season two, and they all appeared in season five. For its first several seasons, the show was a top ten smash, even though it received mixed reviews from reviewers. For this reason, the show ended a five-year run in April 1981, when the public's taste had shifted. The series has a cult and pop culture following that hasn't gone away, thanks to reruns, DVDs, and remakes of the movies.
