Blue Thunder
The 1984 ABC sitcom Blue Thunder is based on the movie of the same name. The series uses a converted Aérospatiale Gazelle with 1983 film footage. The TV show's helicopter was backed up by "Rolling Thunder" This was a huge support van with an off-road vehicle inside. The series stars James Farentino, Dana Carvey, Bubba Smith, and Dick Butkus. ABC canceled the show because they thought Airwolf on CBS would be more popular. Also, it competed with Dallas on Friday nights and lost. The series aired 11 episodes.
