Terry Gannon Jr. was an All-Star softball star until life gave her a few curve balls: a child, a lost college scholarship, and a spouse who was a failure. Terry and her son Danny move home with her estranged father, Terry Sr., dubbed "The Cannon," an opinionated, beer-guzzling ex-athlete who never quite made it as a single father or a professional baseball player after striking out on their own. Terry's background resurfaces as she grudgingly agrees to teach Danny and a group of other athletically challenged hopefuls.
