A Country Practice was a television drama series that aired in Australia. James Davern of JNP Productions authored the pilot episode and placed third in a network script contest in1979, getting a merit award. From November 18, 1981, until November 22, 1993, it aired 1,058 episodes on the Seven Network. It was made at ATN-7's Epping, Sydney, production facility. It was picked up by network ten with a mostly new cast from April to November 1994 for 30 episodes after a long run on the seven network, albeit the ten series was not as successful as its predecessor. The Channel Seven series was also shot in Pitt Town, while the Channel Ten series was shot in Emerald, Victoria.
