To further his career in the Hung Hing gang of Hong Kong, Nam operates a bar in Wanchai. When his best friend Chicken needs to go undercover, he takes a job working for the San Luen gang's elderly leader, Lui, in Taiwan, where he meets and falls for Lui's mistress, Ting Yiu. The return of Chicken to Hong Kong finds Nam engaged in combat with their mutual adversary, Fai Fat. Then Lui walks up and insists that Hung Hing sell him a 50% stake in their planned Macau casino. When Hung Hing's boss Chiang wants to deliberate, Lui threatens war, Chicken is forced to pick a side, and Ting Yui arranges a meeting. Lui's avarice, Ting's plans, Fai and Nam's rivalry, and Chicken's feelings are all headed for a head-on collision.
