Yojimbo
A ronin, or samurai without a master, approaches a village in feudal Japan where two rival businesspeople are vying for control of the local gambling industry. Using the alias Sanjuro Kuwabatake, the ronin persuades silk merchant Tazaemon and sake merchant Tokuemon to hire him as a personal bodyguard, then deftly instigates a full-scale gang war between the two ambitious and ruthless men.
