Even though Douglas Quaid has a beautiful wife whom he adores, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect escape from his trying life; actual memories of life as a superspy may be exactly what he needs. When the operation goes catastrophically wrong, however, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Quaid joins forces with a rebel fighter in order to uncover the leader of the underground resistance and stop Chancellor Cohaagen, who controls the police and is the leader of the free world. As Quaid discovers his true identity, true love, and true destiny, the boundary between fantasy and reality begins to blur, and the fate of his planet hangs in the balance.
