Mildred Hayes does something brave when it's been seven months since her daughter's murder and no one has been caught. She paints three signs at the entrance to her town with a controversial message for Bill Willoughby, the town's respected chief of police. Ebbing's law enforcement and Mildred's war for power only gets worse when Jason Dixon, an immature mother's kid with a propensity for violence, joins the fray.
