Reina and Cory, college sweethearts, have become estranged following a personal tragedy in recent months. Cory drives Reina upstate to her old home as a last-ditch attempt to reconnect. They arrive safely at the abandoned, lovely property and begin to settle in, despite a stressful backwoods encounter with two locals. By midnight, the distance between them has narrowed as they relax by the fire and reestablish their rhythm. That is, until Zeke, a lost youngster who claims to be their son, knocks on the door. Reina and Zeke's budding attachment sets off a bizarre, restless night that pushes Reina and Cory's relationship to its limits after they agree to take him in till dawn.
