It's the start of World War II in Europe. The French Riviera is a popular destination. Patience, 18 years old, is the oldest daughter of a well-digger named Pascal, who regards her as a princess because of her high moral standards. She's considerate and loyal. One day, she has a brief encounter with a young man named Jacques, who happens to be the son of Mazel, the owner of the business where her father purchases his materials. He's charming and a little sly. Felipe, a friend of her father's, expresses an interest in marrying her and asks her to an aviation show. It is only because she is aware of Jacques's piloting skills that she agrees to accept his invitation. Soon, she'll be carrying his child, and he'll be gone, and the family will be forced to deal with the consequences of this unplanned pregnancy.
