Their energy now expresses in amazing collages, performances, and rituals. The film challenges stereotypes about race, religion, and rationality. To capture the essence of this culture's unique combination of ethnic influences, the film interviews musicians, writers, artists and healers, as well as gumbo cooks and Mississippi Blues men.
