The Shade Shepherd
During heroin withdrawal in 1987, Pike Ables is charged with a murder that he can't remember while he can't remember anything about the crime. It's time for him to make a choice: go to jail, or head for the Canadian border and start a new life there. His only hope is his younger brother, Jack, who is a frustrated psychiatrist and soon-to-be father who is willing to leave everything behind, even his pregnant wife, to try and help his brother. In this story, the brothers aren't going to get out of the dark. They're going to have a hard time.
