As a result of the horrors he witnessed during World War I, Chris Baldry has lost all memory of his experiences. In fact, the soldier is so devastated that he has lost all memory of his own wife, Kitty. In the midst of his struggle to adapt to the unusual circumstances of his own home, Baldry seeks out Margaret Grey, a childhood friend. Having amnesia also makes him an easy target for Jenny, his older cousin, who wants to be with him.
