Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla that lives with Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and a variety of other animals in a community environment in a suburban shopping mall. He has limited recollections of the jungle where he was kidnapped, but the arrival of a newborn elephant named Ruby hurts him deeply. Ruby was recently separated from her family in the wild, which forces him to reflect on his life, his origins, and his ultimate goals.
