Six months after the events shown in The Matrix, Neo has proven to be a good omen for the free humans. This is because more and more humans are being rescued from the matrix and brought to Zion, which is the one and only bastion of the Resistance. Neo has made the discovery of his own superpowers, which include superspeed, the ability to see the codes of the items contained within the matrix, and a degree of precognition. The human resistance, however, has received some troubling information: 250,000 machine sentinels are tunneling their way to Zion and will be there in three days' time. The Oracle gives Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity the advice that they need to locate the Keymaker so that they can get to the Source as Zion prepares for the ultimate war. In the meantime, Neo is experiencing recurring nightmares that show the death of Trinity, which has caused him concern. As if that were not enough, Agent Smith has managed to avoid deletion, has grown more powerful than he was before, and has set Neo as the next target of his attack.
