The Legend of Johnny Lingo
When a tornado washes a canoe bearing a baby child ashore upon a tiny South Pacific island, he goes to first popular as a present from the heavens, even to the point of the tribal chief embracing him as a successor. Nevertheless, with time as difficulties are condemned upon Tama (as he is called), he is finally derelict to cope with the poorest individuals on the island, Mahana and her inebriated dad. Mahana is considered homely and also unwanted, yet Tama feels in a different way, so when he is old enough to develop a craft to cruise away, he promises to return for her someday. A fortunate stroke brings him to land upon the island of the legendary Johnny Lingo, the wealthiest trader in the islands, and after years of service to him, Tama has learned a lot regarding life and also himself as he imagines recognizing his pledge to Mahana.
