The Karate Kid
Dre Parker, age 12, could have been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother's latest job move has put him in China. Dre is immediately drawn to his classmate Mei Ying, but their different cultures make it impossible for them to be friends. Even worse, Dre's feelings make him an enemy of Cheng, the class bully. Dre has no one to turn to but maintenance man Mr. Han, who is a kung fu master. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu isn't about punches and blocks, but about being mature and calm, Dre realizes that fighting the bullies will be the fight of his life.
