The film starts with a flashback from the main character, Antoine. We learn that he has been obsessed with female hairdressers since he was a young boy. The whole movie is made up of flashbacks, and there are many similarities to the past. We don't know what Antoine has done with his life, but we do know that he has fulfilled his childhood goal of marrying a hairdresser.
