Chet Ripley, his wife Connie, and their two sons, Buck and Ben, are on vacation with their family. Connie's annoying brother-in-law, Roman Craig, together with his wife, Kate, and their two daughters, interrupt a peaceful weekend of fishing at a Wisconsin lakeside cabin. As the trip continues, the Ripleys find themselves in conflict with the stuffy Craigs.
