Georges, who has Down syndrome and lives in a mental facility, attends lectures given by Harry, a successful businessman. Despite his success at work, his social life has been ruined since his wife and their two children left him and moved away with her. When Harry's children arrived by train this weekend, he forgot to pick them up since he was too busy working. This man is distraught and angry as he drives through the countryside, not wanting to see his wife or children again for fear they will reject him. In his haste to escape the institution, he nearly runs over Georges, who is the only one left behind as everyone else's mother has passed away. There are times when Georges is a nuisance, but Harry will not give up on him. Eventually, a great connection develops between the two of them, a bond that has a profound effect on Harry.
