The Cleansing
Alice is a sixteen-year-old girl living in a small secluded village in 14th-century Wales who is suspected of being a witch and responsible for the plague that has decimated the village, killing many people, including Alice's father. Alice is forced to watch The Cleanser, a frightening masked entity, mercilessly execute her mother when it is found that she has been hiding her mother's infection. After Alice rejects the local preacher and de-facto leader Tom's advances, he exposes her to five excruciating trials. With the help of her mother's friend Mary, she flees into the forest the night before her execution and stumbles onto the lonely cabin of a mystery healer, who has his own troubled past and demons to face. He heals her and teaches her how to avenge those who have wronged her.
