Spirits of the Dead
Toby Dammit, a disheveled, drugged-and-drunk English movie star, is the subject of a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, which three directors each adapt to the screen: One of the central characters of "Metzengerstein" is a Mediveal countess who is in love and hate with a black stallion, who turns out to be her dead lover. "William Wilson" depicts the story of a ruthless Austrian student who kills his identical twin.
