Saya Toma (Erika Toda), a high school student, lost her parents and little brother in an airplane crash. Detective Akio Kondo (Yu Tokui) approached her and informed her that "your family is quite likely to have been murdered by persons with spec." This was her first encounter with the term "spec." Six years later, Saya Toma, who will never forget what the Detective said, decides to pursue a career in law enforcement. She returns to Japan following FBI training in the United States. Saya Toma is assigned to the Public Security Bureau's unsolved cases. Meanwhile, as a result of Satoshi Chii's (Yuu Shirota) ploy, Juichi Ninomae (Ryunosuke Kamiki) regards Saya Toma as an enemy of his parents and attempts to push her over the brink. Satoshi Chii's ploy has also blinded Saya Toma and Juichi Ninomae to the fact that they are siblings. The siblings are on the verge of a life-or-death struggle. Maho Ueno (Umika Kawashima) becomes embroiled in their conflict. Saya Toma employs the term "spec" to safeguard Maho Ueno.
