Kumiko is a senior euphonium player in her second year. Due to the influx of new underclassmen in the concert band, Kumiko will have to adapt. To lead the new underclassmen, she and third-year trumpeter Tomoe Kabe were picked. There's euphonist Kanade Hisaishi, who looks good but can't talk about himself, tuba player Mirei Suzuki, who can't adjust to her new environment, and double bassist Motomu Tsukinaga. There are a lot of issues between the Sunrise Festival, chair placement auditions, and the contest.
