Sonora
1931 was a year marked by nationalism and excess. The Chinese are evicted from Sonora, and the United States closes its borders and deports Mexicans. Twelve destitute individuals traverse the Sonoran desert in a 1929 Chrysler in an attempt to reach Baja California in search of tranquility. As their journey reveals both the finest and worst of human nature, racism, selfishness, and paranoia prove to be as lethal as the harsh surroundings.
