Jennifer, a self-absorbed adolescent, accidentally wanders into a nearby homeless shelter late one night after getting into an argument with her elderly mother. Jennifer's father is fed up with his daughter's selfishness and throws her an ultimatum: if she doesn't volunteer at the shelter, he will force her to do it. With the help of this new adventure, Jennifer forms an unlikely friendship with the staff and a very special little guest that helps her realize that the actual meaning of Christmas is all about family and love for those you care about the most.
