Sayonara
Major Lloyd Gruver (Marlon Brando) is reassigned to a Japanese air base and confronted by US racial prejudice. Contrary to US military policy, many troops develop romantic relationships with Japanese women. Unusually for him, enlisted man Joe Kelly (Red Buttons) falls in love with and marries Japanese woman Katsumi (Miyoshi Umeki). A wedding ceremony is a risky situation for Gruver.
