Every time evil has threatened the world, warriors known as "Saints" have stepped up to serve as bulwarks of faith. Many years have passed after the bloody "Holy War," and Saori Kido, a young woman burdened by her enigmatic abilities, has returned to the current day. After being saved from an assassin by a youngster named Seiya "Bronze Saint," Saori comes to terms with her fate and duty and decides to join Seiya and his group of Bronze Saints on their journey to "Sanctuary. " As they fight their way through Sanctuary, they come face to face with "Pope," the leader of the "Gold Saints," who are the most powerful saints in existence.
