Steel Dragon, the band Chris Cole fronts in Rock Star, is the subject of the film. Cole is a photocopier technician by day and the lead singer of a Steel Dragon cover band called "Blood Pollution" at night. Bobby Beers, the lead singer of the Steel Dragon band, was fired and the band began searching for a replacement vocalist following internal conflict. Based on the true story of the heavy metal band Judas Priest.
