Francis is a forty-year-old engineer who, following a strange humiliation, has retired to a town on the shores of Lake Iseo. The previous family villa, a spectacular Art Nouveau structure on the lake shore, is now occupied by the couple and their little daughter. But there is another unknown person in the enormous mansion, who can only be identified by the echo of the respirator that keeps her alive. She cannot be identified by any other means. However, there are other presences that are no less disconcerting, and in some cases, more threatening, as they travel throughout the villa. How did the man and his family do after that? What mysteries do you have hidden away? Will Marta, his childhood friend who has always been in love with him, be able to revive Francis from the coma into which he has slipped and relieve him of his suffering? And, perhaps most crucially, how many are successful in their attempts to flee the danger that threatens their life by congregating around the house? Breaths depicts the story of a guy who has been crushed by memories, shame, and worries, and how the suffering can radically affect him. He also wishes to demonstrate the extent to which an individual is capable of accepting the various routes that exist without becoming a victim.
