Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway is a 2008 movie that shows the final performance of the original Broadway show of Rent on September 7, 2008. It also shows some footage of the show's closing night party. A limited theatrical run of the movie took place between September 24 and28,2008, in more than 500 theaters in the United States and Canada with high definition digital projectors. Footage from the September 7 performance and a day of filming on August 20 make up the film, which is shown at the end. Following the end of the show, there is a reprise of "Seasons of Love" with both the final cast and cast members from previous shows, including the original Broadway cast after the show ends.
