Trouble-making teen Jim Stark moves to a new town, where he is supposed to start over. However, being the new kid in town brings its own problems. Stark makes friends with a troubled classmate named Plato and falls in love with a local girl named Judy. But Buzz, a tough guy in the neighborhood, is with Judy. When Buzz attacks Jim and challenges him to a drag race, the real trouble for the new kid starts.
