RAGAMUFFIN is based on the true story of Rich Mullins, a musical prodigy who rose to fame and money in Christian music only to walk away and settle on a Navajo reservation. Growing up on a tree farm in Indiana with his weathered, harsh father, Rich has struggled his entire life with the brokenness and terrible insecurities that resulted from his upbringing. The fight with drunkenness, addiction, and women did not stop Rich from his commitment to a God he was committed to adore. He was a lover of Jesus and a rebel in the church. Rich became one of the first people of his generation to live honestly in the midst of a religious and conformist culture as he contended with success in Nashville, depression in Wichita, and oblivion in the Four Corners.
