Hardened offender Maggie Hayward's persistent aggressiveness, even while in police custody, results in her execution. However, the top-secret US government agent 'Bob' organizes a staged death so that Maggie can be meticulously groomed as a ghost killer and tamed. She assumes the alias of saleswoman Claudia Anne Doran. She also receives a fantastic roommate, photographer J.P., who is open-minded and kind. The two fall in love, which affects their respective careers. In contrast to Bob's agency, he has instilled in her a conscience that prioritizes love before commerce.
